Who are we?
The Classically French trained chef and founder of
Gourmet Gecko Fine Foods, Kerry-Ann Manton moved back in 2018 to South Africa after living abroud for over 18 years. After working as a Chef & Manager in
London and around the UK since 2001 in some of the most prestigious
establishments in the world, she acquired a deep passion for flavorsome food
and quality ingredients.
The last 8 years before moveing back to Port Elizabeth, Kerry-Ann had worked for a
leading fine food specialist company in London, distributing premium foods to
discerning customers around the UK. Her knowledge around Classical and
Molecular technique has allowed her opportunity to demonstrate and command
audiences of MasterChef level. Chef Demonstrations & Menu Development was
the order of the day and key clients Kerry-Ann looked after ranked amongst the
very talented Roux brothers, Phil Howard, Jason Atherton as well as Corporate
portfolio’s such as Compass UK, Sodexo & Baxter Story to name a few.
Kerry-Ann was also key negotiator & leader in successfully delivering
premium product to world staged events such as Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, Henley,
Chelsea Flower Show and many others. Leaving the business in 2017 as Head of
Sales after looking after both Corporate and Independent portfolios, she has a
wealth of knowledge around food distribution, sourcing and customer service.
Now settled in the wonderful
city of Port Elizabeth, her passion for sourcing, discovering and
cooking world class ingredients has not waned but has been re-launched into
Gourmet Gecko Fine Foods. As a business, Gourmet Gecko Fine Foods is dedicated
and committed to expanding & supporting the restaurant offering in the
Eastern Cape as well as providing training and development to the Industry to
ultimately get this wonderful part of Africa on the Food Map!
Until recently, Gourmet Gecko only supplied the HOREC Industry but now boasts a new personalised home delivery service within the Port Elizabeth Area, allowing the oppourtunity for all homes to enjoy premium ingredients at affordable prices.
